Today I submitted Task 8 of 10 in the OCA Class ‘Photography As Language’. We had to take three photos that demonstrated what we had learnt so far. I started with this image:
Each book signifies a part of me that I hold dear. The cup tells you when I was born. The use of Zoom to show my face on the second monitor allows a Vantage Point that shows the books, the cup, the second monitor and most of the laptop screen. The Angus Mcbean self-portrait on the second monitor and the OCA logo on the main screen are linkages to this course. As a self-portrait hopefully it is different enough to attract the viewer’s eye, after which each book is a potential thread to follow.
